Leeslie + Jeremy
March 19, 2022 / Milwaukee, Wisconsin
How did your love story begin? On a wild St. Paddy's Day hang out in 2018 with some of my best friends, I was complaining to a friend about how she hadn't found anyone worth her time to date. After some hard thinking their mutual friend brings up Jeremy's Facebook profile deeming him as a potential worthy suitor. However, Her friend informed her that Jeremy lived in Milwaukee and that he did NOT want a long distance relationship. I was deff intrigued by this potential new guy anyways, I thought ‘what’s to lose’ and had Bryan send Jeremy my number. The story from there continues, we dated for exactly a year before Jeremy asked me to move to Milwaukee. In the mean time our love for baseball games, tacos cheese curds and our favorite Milwaukee places grew and we adopted a kitten in the process. Then on September 19th, what I thought was just a normal weekend hanging out with some friends turned into something special! Despite multiple clear signs on Friday night I had no clue what was about to come. The next day, with friends Chris and Lindsay over for the weekend, they decided to go to brunch at Cafe Hollander, then because we were blessed with a beautiful September afternoon, Jeremy decided we should retrace the steps of out first date, I was clueless. After a quick pit stop at the tiki hut at Bradford beach for a drink, we made their way to the romantical spot at the North Point Water Tower. It is here Jeremy decided to ask me to be his wife! Even though he failed miserably because of nerves he asked in Spanish like the great boyfriend he is! I still didn't fully grasp what just happened and I said YES! To mark that magical first text message that started it all, we choose to get married on what is exactly 4 years of that first text. Planning our wedding was something we had always talked about. Jeremy is a social butterfly and together we had been to about 12 weddings together. So we had some idea of what we wanted and what we didn’t want. We took planning as a team.
What was your vision for your wedding? We wanted our wedding to feel like an extension of us. We wanted people to walk in and feel the love we share with one another and the love that we have for our friends and family. For us we knew we wanted to get married in Milwaukee since that’s is where our story began and where we were living. We first stated by choosing our amazing photographer Arielle Gallionie! We knew we wanted her to capture our special day. She is a high school friend of mine and our us it was important to choose vendors who we felt we could trust and had amazing customer service and fit what we needed! Second came picking our venue! Right when we walked into filament we knew that’s where we needed to get married! What made our day the most memorable were the florals! Bird and Bumble nailed my vision which was something along the lines of boho, fun classic with color!
Tell us all about your wedding dress! Emily was amazing! Hands down the best person I have ever let dress me! She listened to what I wanted and pulled all the styles I wanted to try! I can in KNOWING that the gown I was trying on would be THE ONE. I felt like a boho princess in it! I wanted something that felt like me! With sleeves and would allow me to wear my hat!
You planned and you planned, but how did the day ACTUALLY go?! I know people say brides are also so nervous the day of, but I was as cool as a cucumber! Did I print out the wrong vows on the day of? Yes? Did our amazing groomsman help Jeremy find them and bring them to me yes! Did I get a massive nose bleed after our first look? Yes! But it was all worth it!!!! Us walking into the venue and seeing all of our vendors work was amazing! We loved sharing our personal vows with our amazing family and friends. What made it even more special was that one of our friends Tom Durian was about to capture our love story into such amazing words when we officiated our wedding. Jeremy at family weddings will sign Enrique Iglesias Hero, this man serenaded me with the Spanish version at the end of the night!
What is your best advice for future brides-to-be? Don’t stress about the small things enjoy the day! And get a Costco cheese cake! Also spent all the money on the flowers it’s worth it (;
